Beginner Whitewater Course 4 Hour

Ready to dive into the exciting world of whitewater kayaking? Our Beginner Whitewater Class is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of paddling in moving water in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Led by experienced, certified instructors, this course covers essential skills like boat control, reading the river, and basic safety techniques—giving you the confidence to navigate beginner-friendly rapids and start your whitewater journey with ease.

    Location: Wildwood Outfitters 

    Maximum: 8 participants

    Minimum: 4 participants

    Age: 8 and older (minors must bring an adult).

    Price: $200 per participant

  • What to Expect

    Paddle Essentials: Warm up exercises

    Stroke Concepts: Master forward, stopping, and turning strokes

    Whitewater maneuvers: Ferries, eddy Catches, utilizing river features to maneuver 

    Catching and front surfing waves

    Safety essentials: Safe movement down river, hazard avoidance

    Scenic paddle: Explore and learn about the beautiful natural environment we paddle in

  • What To Bring

    Comfortable and weather appropriate non-cotton clothes.

    Drytop/Drysuit/Wetsuit - weather dependant

    Boating Gear - kayak, paddle, PFD, helmet, skirt

    Safety Gear - rope, float bags

    Shoes or sandals with straps or laces.

    Sunscreen and a hat.

    A water bottle to stay hydrated.

    A towel and change of clothes for after class.
